It is led by Andrew Demaria who, with over 20 years of digital media experience, is an industry leader of digital growth strategy, content, B2C/D2C solutions, and operations skilled in creating and shaping award-winning teams, compelling and monetizable digital content, live brand and video experiences, global social campaigns and profitable products across multiple international markets, platforms, languages and organizations.

ANDREW DEMARIA IS FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR OF KRILL.

I am fascinated by technology, innovation and data – and how to combine all that to connect with digital audiences. 

I’ve launched large and small commercially-focused digital products and content experiences that date back to the late 1990s when I sat in the media box at live sporting events waiting desperately for pages to reload while I produced live online commentary of games and matches – considered rather novel at the time.

Fast forward and I found myself running the international division of one of the biggest digital publishers on the planet. As Vice President, heading up CNN Digital International, I ran digital strategy and incredibly talented, award-winning content and product teams based all over the world – producing intentional content, working with multiple partners and clientele, and driving significant audience and revenue growth. My portfolio included very profitable vertical, lifestyle business units like CNN Travel, CNN Style and CNN Sport as well as News and digital platform programming, social, video, audience development, product and other teams.

SOME OF THE PRODUCTS AND CONCEPTS I HAVE BEEN MOST PROUD OF DURING THIS TIME:

*The launch of CNNGo – a travel and lifestyle digital product in five languages that covered Asia-Pacific, was considerably ahead of its time, and later rebranded and evolved to CNN Travel.

*Overseeing the launch and growth of another new product for CNN – CNN Style, a successful venture into the fashion, art and design world for CNN that keeps winning awards and new client relationships.

* #myfreedomday: a social media and a cross-platform campaign at its best that took the mission of The Freedom Project into classrooms all over the world and onto more than 1 billion Twitter timelines.

* CNN Sport for winning an Eppy for best sports website (beating the likes of ESPN!) for its content strategy and approach and another Eppy for this video.

And new story telling techniques like this and the way my teams completely changed the live brand and video experience of CNN for our international audiences.
